Puppet Making

One hour and twenty minutes. Each participant makes a quality hand puppet that can be used to interpret a story or historical event.

Puppet Manipulation and Voice

Participants use their own puppets or may borrow a "work puppet" provided by Deborah or Len.

• Basic hand puppet manipulation
• Effective communication between two or more puppets
• Relation of puppets to "play area" or stage
• Voice development that helps to represent the personality of the puppet

Play Creation for Puppetry

A short story (that can be read in ten minutes) is chosen with the direction of Deborah or Len and is "story boarded" or turned into a simple outline. The main action and chief characters are analyzed. Dialogue is created for each scene of the play.
